St Johns Centre Walworth

"St John’s Centre will provide a safe environment in which people from all groups within the local community can meet together for social, educational and recreational activities."

"This mission statement was put together by the Working Party formed in 2010 to oversee the modernisation and refurbishment of the old Institute as it was transformed into the new St John’s Centre. This not only makes clear the purpose of the new Centre but reaffirms the original aims of the building when it was first gifted to St John’s Parish back in 1901. It was a building to be used by the church and local community.

Long term historic users of the Institute/Centre have re-established themselves and have been joined by new tenants, all of whom provide quality services to the community. It has always been the intention that the ground floor hall would be used to provide space for groups within the community that would meet for social or recreational reasons. There will be other initiatives for other age ranges and other needs and if you can see a gap that needs filling please get in touch with Deleney Brown our Centre Manager via email: deleneybrown@stjohnscentre.co.uk" - Father John Walker.
