St John's Centre User Groups

We have a variety of groups who use St John’s Centre on a regular basis. Some use it as their daily base whilst others use it for weekly or monthly events. See below who is here and feel free to get in touch if you would like to join them and be part of our community centre.

St. John's Pre-School

This is a well-established pre-school group serving the local community managed by an elected management committee. Creating a place for children to learn through play, socialise and make friends with others and meet other families from their local community. Children grow in confidence, gain a little independence and are in a multicultural learning environment.

Monday - Friday in Term Times from 8.45am – 3.00pm.

Lighthouse Children's Foundation

Lighthouse Afterschool Club and Saturday School supports parents by extending day care until 6.30pm. Staff collect children from local primary schools and ensuring their safety in St. John's Centre until parents arrive. This service also offers a skills development session on Saturday morning during school term supporting children preparing for exams or who may be finding education more difficult.

The Foundation offers a play scheme daily care in the half term and main school holidays Monday - Friday from 8:30am - 6:30pm.

Silver Lining Lunch Group

The Silver Lining Group for over 50's meet every Tuesday from 11am – 2.30pm in the main hall of the centre for lunch, a chat, Zumba exercise and a quiz or game for entertainment. We also have occasional visits from a local historian who talks about the history of SE17 and other nostalgic topics. Additionally, on special days or celebrated holidays we have themed lunches and music and occasional performances.

We ask for a £5 donation towards the lunch. We are a friendly bunch and would love you to join us.

Wellness Acupuncture & Multi Bed Clinic


Our clinic offers affordable acupuncture treatments and gives access to quality care for those who can’t afford the regular prices. The low price allows for more frequent treatments as it is often necessary to have acupuncture once a week for a period of time in order to get the best long-lasting results.  


Our practitioners are highly qualified and fully insured.The clinic operates on Monday and Friday from 11 – 6pm and on Saturday & Sunday

Physiofriend offers a dedicated physiotherapy 

service which provides holistic care using evidence based practice and experienced practitioners to restore function, resolve impairments, empowering individuals and guide them through their journey to optimal health. 


At Physiofriend we use a range of manual handling techniques such as massage and acupuncture as well as individualised exercise programs in order to improve your problem. All are welcome.

Total Function - Health & Well-Being Centre

Total function runs a series of clinics on how to look after your total physical health. The clinics involves individual session on exercise physiotherapy, acupuncture, sports massage, nutrition advice, mental welfare and all holistic approaches to health care. Working with the individual to come up with a long term plan to improve their living circumstances.

It is a safe place with individual therapy rooms on the third floor, but there is a mobility lift available should you need one.

London Bridge Language Centre

LBLC offer a range of English language courses. Depending on your level of English you can take courses such as First Certificate, Cambridge Advanced, Cambridge Proficiency and IELTS. All courses offer the chance of taking a Cambridge exam and receiving a certificate if completed successfully. Classes are small, usually between 6 and 10 students. All teachers are experienced native speakers who will make sure your lessons are structured and informative but also fun. Courses take place on five weekday mornings.

Upside Down Dance Academy


USDDA is an international and intergenerational dance training centre founded and created by Lexi Maize which helps beginners to learn how to dance and also how to reach their personal goals. It is also a performing art school, a talent agency and offers theatre opportunities and social events. Upside Down Dance Academy provides various dance classes and courses in-studio, outdoor in your local area or online via live virtual class.
